Most people who walk up to me have already done three weeks of homework. They know the trim. They have watched every video on YouTube twice. They have a color picked out.
What they do not know is what actually happens next. And honestly, that is the part that makes people sit on it for another two months.
So let me just tell you. I am Adam Huber and I sell Cadillacs at Luxury Auto Mall in Sioux Falls. This is the whole thing, start to finish, written by the guy who does it every day. Not a brochure. Just what buying a Cadillac in Sioux Falls really looks like, so you can decide whether you want to bother coming in.
Sioux Falls is a bigger Cadillac town than people expect
People from out of state are always a little surprised by this. Sioux Falls is not a huge city, but it is the hub for a big chunk of the upper Midwest. I sell to folks from all over South Dakota, western Minnesota, northwest Iowa, and northeast Nebraska on a regular basis. A three or four hour drive to pick up the exact vehicle you want is pretty normal around here.
The other thing that shapes this market is winter. Almost everybody I talk to wants all-wheel drive, and they want it without a conversation about it. That narrows things down fast and it is one of the first questions I ask, because it changes which vehicles are even worth walking you out to.
Luxury Auto Mall carries Cadillac along with Mercedes-Benz and BMW, so I also end up doing a lot of honest side-by-side comparisons. I did that in writing too, in my rundown of the best luxury SUVs of 2026. If a customer walks in wanting an Escalade and I think a different vehicle actually fits them better, I am going to say so. I would rather sell you the right one and see you again in four years.
What is actually on the lot
The Cadillac lineup has been moving fast the last couple of years, so I want to be careful here instead of listing you a roster that is stale by the time you read this.
Broadly, here is how it breaks down:
The Escalade family. The standard Escalade, the longer Escalade ESV, and the 682 horsepower Escalade-V. This is still the vehicle that brings the most people through the door, and it is the one I know best. I wrote up the 2026 Escalade in detail if you want the full trim ladder.
The V-Series performance cars. The CT5-V and the CT5-V Blackwing, plus the smaller CT4-V Blackwing. These are a smaller slice of what I sell, but the people who want one really want one, and they usually know more about the car than most salespeople do.
The EVs. Cadillac now has a full electric lineup. The Optiq is the affordable door in, the Lyriq sits above it, the three-row Vistiq above that, and the Escalade IQ is in its own category at the top. This is where people get the most confused, so I broke down the Lyriq in detail as a starting point.
The gas crossovers and sedans. The XT-series SUVs and the CT sedans fill in underneath. Cadillac has been shuffling this part of the lineup as the EVs roll out, so rather than tell you what I think we have, just text me and I will tell you what is physically sitting on the ground today.
That last point applies to everything, actually. Inventory turns. Whatever I type here is a snapshot. A two minute text gets you the real answer.
New or certified pre-owned
A lot of people come in assuming they want new and leave with a certified pre-owned, or the other way around. Neither is the right answer for everybody.
New makes sense if you want the current tech, the full factory warranty, and a specific build. Cadillac has changed a lot fast, especially on the screen and Super Cruise side, so a three year old one is genuinely a different vehicle inside than a new one.
Certified pre-owned makes sense if you want the most Cadillac for the money. Somebody else took the first hit on depreciation, the vehicle went through a factory inspection process, and it comes with warranty coverage behind it. On an Escalade in particular, the gap between a new one and a clean CPO one is real money.
My honest filter is this. If you keep vehicles a long time and you care about the newest tech, buy new. If you trade every three or four years, or you are stretching to get into a bigger vehicle, CPO is usually the smarter buy. I will tell you which one I think you are before I show you anything.
What a best-price store actually means
Here is the part I like about where I work. We are a best-price store. The price on the vehicle is the price. There is no dance, no going back to the desk four times, no manager coming out to shake your hand.
I know that sounds like a line. What it actually means for you is that you are not being punished for being agreeable. At a negotiation store, the person who hates conflict pays more than the person who is willing to walk out twice. That has always bugged me. Here everybody gets the same number.
It also means the conversation with me is about the vehicle instead of the price. We spend the time figuring out whether this thing actually fits your life, which is the part that matters four years from now.
Your trade and your financing
Two things that stall more deals than anything else.
The trade. Get a number on it early. I can look at your vehicle and give you a real figure quickly, and knowing that number changes the whole conversation. What I ask is that you let me actually see it instead of going off an online estimate, because those tools do not know about your new tires or the hail from two summers ago. Both of those move the number, and one of them moves it up.
Financing. You can bring your own bank or credit union and I am completely fine with that. A lot of my customers do. We also work with a bunch of lenders and will run it against yours to see who comes back better. Cadillac usually has some kind of manufacturer financing or lease program running, but those change month to month and they vary by model, so I am not going to quote you a rate in a blog post that will be wrong in three weeks. Ask me when you are actually ready and I will tell you what is live that day.
Buying from out of town
Probably a third of what I do is with people who are not in Sioux Falls. It works fine. Here is how I usually run it.
We start over text or email. I send you real photos and a walkaround video of the actual vehicle, not stock images. We get your trade valued from photos and your paperwork mostly done before you ever get in the car. By the time you make the drive, you are here to sign and to make sure the vehicle feels right in person.
If you are coming from out of state, you will handle registration and tax in your home state where you title it, which is normal and something we do constantly. The specifics vary by state, so ask me and I will walk you through exactly what your situation looks like.
What a Cadillac actually costs here
I am not going to throw hard numbers at you, because pricing moves with trim, options, and whatever incentives are live that month. Anything I type today is wrong by next quarter.
Roughly, the sedans and smaller crossovers are the entry point into the brand. The Escalade generally runs from the mid-$80,000s up into the $120,000s and beyond once you are into loaded Platinums or a V-Series. The EVs spread across a wide band depending on which of the four you are looking at.
The useful move is to text or call me with the specific vehicle and trim you are considering and get a real out-the-door number, taxes and fees included. That is a five minute conversation and it beats guessing off a generic MSRP that nobody actually pays. You can also browse the official lineup on Cadillac’s site to get your bearings first.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I buy a Cadillac in Sioux Falls?
I sell Cadillacs at Luxury Auto Mall of Sioux Falls, which carries Cadillac along with Mercedes-Benz and BMW. There are a few places to buy a Cadillac in the Sioux Falls area. What I would ask is that you find a salesperson you actually like talking to, because you will be dealing with that person for years on service, trades, and the next one.
Are Cadillacs worth buying?
For the money, I think the current lineup is genuinely strong, especially on interior tech and Super Cruise, which is one of the best hands-free driving systems anybody makes. Where Cadillac earns it is the cabin and the ride. Where you should think hard is resale on some models compared to the German brands. I will give you my honest read on the specific vehicle you are considering rather than a blanket answer.
Do I need all-wheel drive for South Dakota winters?
Most of my customers here want it, and I usually agree with them. Between the snow and the wind out here, all-wheel drive plus a good set of tires makes a real difference. Tires matter more than most people think, so if you are buying a used one, ask me what is on it.
Can I buy a Cadillac from you if I do not live in Sioux Falls?
Yes, and a good chunk of what I do is exactly that. I sell to people across South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska regularly. We do photos, video, trade valuation, and most of the paperwork remotely, then you come sign and pick it up.
Is certified pre-owned worth it over new?
It depends on how long you keep vehicles. CPO gets you more Cadillac for the money with factory-backed warranty coverage, which is why it is often the better buy on an Escalade. New is the right call if you want the current tech and the full factory warranty. Tell me your budget and how long you keep cars and I will tell you which one you are.
Do you negotiate on price?
We are a best-price store, so the listed price is the price for everybody. That means you are not paying extra for being an agreeable person, which is how it works at most negotiation stores whether they admit it or not.
